Promoting Growth

“I think being a part of my organization allowed me to elevate my leadership skills. When you’re in these types of organizations ... there’s a lot of project management skills that you eventually learn to acquire because you’re helping organize events and doing the logistics on the back end all the way up into the execution. A lot of these skills can be obtained when you’re a part of a Greek organization that will allow you to grow professionally.” - Sarah Montes, Omega Phi Beta Sorority Inc.

Lambda Theta Alpha, Epsilon Alpha Chapter promotes their annual St. Jude Walk to raise money and awareness for their national philanthropy

Oftentimes, students from diverse backgrounds are less likely to have the resources to succeed in college and after graduation. Many public high schools only prepare students for getting into college but not through it. Students who are first-gen tend to have even less support because they don't have someone with experience to guide them through college. MGC serves as a safe environment to nurture and build students up into professionals by providing them with soft skills, leadership experience, and connections all over the world.

Each sorority and fraternity have either a national or local philanthropic cause that they contribute to, either financially or through volunteer work. Interested students are often encouraged to choose an organization whose philanthropy they identify with. Members regularly participate in community service relating to their philanthropy or host events that foster awareness of their cause. Philanthropy allows members to become leaders in their community.
